The Diocese of Sacramento requires every parish that operates a Catholic elementary school to establish and maintain an advisory committee. St. Joseph Catholic School’s advisory board is known as the Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC) and is comprised of several parent volunteers. The council is accountable to our school pastor, and our principal, in its operation. Our Principal remains directly responsible for our school’s Catholic identity, curriculum, programs and personnel, and reports to our pastor with respect to these matters. The principal also works interactively with CSAC to address any issues relative to her responsibilities noted above and works with the council to formulate school policies, establish the school’s annual budget, foster parent engagement and engage in long-term, strategic planning, marketing and development activities.
